Service Description

Our mission is to bring the best of classical and contemporary choral artistry to the Lake Sunapee Region. Our members live in various Kearsarge/Sunapee-area towns. We perform two concerts most years, one in the Spring and one in late Fall or early Winter. With the guidance of Artistic Director Alex Ager, we strive to create beautiful music that touches the hearts of our audience and enriches the lives of our members. We welcome new members who share our passion for singing and our commitment to excellence. We welcome you as a singer with Kearsarge Chorale for our 3:00 PM, May 18, 2025 performance. I: Rehearsals The first rehearsal will be Monday, February 10, 2025 in the First Baptist Church Choir Room, 461 Main St., New London, NH. Please arrive at 6:30 p.m. to check in and receive your music. Subsequent Monday evening rehearsals will run from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with sectional rehearsals as needed. Dress rehearsal on May 17, 2025 is mandatory; anyone who does not attend the dress rehearsal will not be permitted to sing in the concert. Everyone who rehearses for a particular concert is expected to sing in that concert. II: Attendance The importance of regular attendance at both plenary and sectional rehearsals cannot be stressed enough. Each singer’s voice contributes to the characteristic sound of the ensemble. Our most important task is to build and refine that sound in rehearsals. You and your voice are essential to the blend and stability of the Chorale. If a singer misses more than three rehearsals in a season, that singer will be asked to meet with the Artistic Director to discuss his/her participation in the concert. Singers should check the Chorale’s website (www.kearsargechorale.org) weekly on Mondays for announcements including schedules and cancelations. Independent work at home is expected. See the member section of the web site for "homework" and practice tracks, when available. III: Dues and Music Purchase (Note: Students are exempt from paying dues.) Dues are $50 per season and are due on or before the end of the third plenary rehearsal. Register and pay here by credit card; you will have the option to make a donation of $20 to reimburse the Chorale for the cost of ordering your sheet music. If you do make this donation, you are welcome to keep the music as your own.
